Lifting

We can’t turn back time — but we can restore your skin’s firmness and elasticity. There are several ways to achieve this. You just need to choose the right one for you.

  • Revitalization and lifting of sagging facial areas

  • Restoration of clear facial contours

  • Reduction of fine lines and wrinkles

PDO Thread Lift

Thread lifting is a minimally invasive procedure that delivers numerous benefits to your skin.
It rejuvenates, lifts, and restores clear contours — helping combat sagging, aging skin and delaying the need for surgical facelift.

How does thread lifting work?

During the treatment, absorbable PDO threads are inserted under the skin using fine cannulas. Once the cannulas are removed, the threads remain beneath the skin, forming a supportive mesh — a kind of “ladder” that stimulates collagen and elastin production. As the threads gradually dissolve, the newly formed collagen network continues to tighten and firm the skin for long-lasting results.

Thread lifting can be performed not only on the face, but also on the neck, décolletage, or even body areas after liposuction.

Revolutionary innovation

At Genesys Medical, we use the latest generation of PDO threads that leave no bruising and do not require compression masks after application.

The results are immediate and long-lasting.

MUDr. Jana Synková on Thread Lifting

While smooth, firm skin is synonymous with beauty, loose, sagging, or wrinkled skin tends to evoke the opposite impression. So, what are the ways to restore skin firmness?

It’s true that real beauty comes from within and runs much deeper than the physical. Yet, during a first encounter, people rarely evaluate your inner self – they mostly notice your overall appearance and facial expression.

Especially women often struggle when their bodies begin to show imperfections and signs of aging. One of these is sagging skin. Fortunately, there are effective ways to address this concern.

Thread lifting is recommended in cases of gravitational ptosis – the downward shift of facial tissues caused by gravity and aging. Over time, the fat beneath the skin moves from the cheeks toward the jawline, forming jowls and blurring the once distinct contour between chin and neck. As the cheeks descend, nasolabial folds also become more pronounced.

The procedure uses lifting threads that elevate the facial tissues upwards and sideways, mimicking the effect of a surgical facelift.

The latest 4D lifting threads are made of polydioxanone (PDO), a fully absorbable material. They gradually dissolve over about 180 days, during which new collagen forms around them, providing long-lasting support and firmness even after the thread is absorbed.

The threads are inserted using a fine cannula, which is removed afterward. The thread is then tightened from top to bottom, similar to pulling the elastic in a waistband. The ends are trimmed for a seamless finish.

Immediately after the procedure, an elastic facial bandage must be worn continuously for at least four days (a Thursday appointment is therefore ideal). For the next two weeks, it should be worn at night.
Bruising is normal and can be treated with creams such as Heparoid or Reparil. For discomfort, mild painkillers like Nimesil can be used, and healing can be supported with Aescin (2 tablets, three times daily).

The most important part of recovery is facial rest — limiting facial expressions such as chewing, yawning, laughing, wide speaking, or oral intimacy to allow optimal healing.

The aim is to rejuvenate, refresh, and improve the quality of the skin, not to provoke a dramatic reaction. Afterward, people shouldn’t exclaim, “Wow, what happened to you?” but rather say, “You look so well-rested today!” — and that’s precisely the desired outcome.

Moreover, the treatment offers a deeper benefit: around the age of 45, collagen production significantly decreases. The inserted threads help stimulate new collagen, making the skin not only look younger but also become younger in structure.

Other Lifting Methods

Plasma Lifting (Plasmatherapy)

Visible improvement of sagging contours can also be achieved through plasma lifting, also known as plasmatherapy. This treatment rejuvenates the skin using your own blood plasma – a natural, biocompatible substance with remarkable regenerative properties widely used across various fields of medicine, including aesthetic dermatology.

What makes it so exceptional? Its key strength lies in the presence of growth factors, which play a crucial role in cell regeneration and natural healing. In the skin, they act as a true elixir of youth. Unlike many other rejuvenation procedures, plasma treatments do not simply mask the signs of aging – they slow them down at the cellular level.

The result is radiant, refreshed, and nourished skin with improved tone and texture.

Facial Contour Modeling with Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid has countless applications in aesthetic medicine. A specially formulated type of this substance is used to reshape and enhance facial contours and bone structure. This non-surgical, painless method effectively corrects facial asymmetries and subtle imperfections. When applied to the cheekbones, it naturally lifts the mid-face area, while jawline fillers can smooth out jowls and even visually reduce the appearance of a double chin.

The result is a harmonious, rejuvenated facial contour without the need for surgery or downtime.

About the Procedure

The procedure is suitable for so-called gravitational ptosis, which is the descent of individual parts of the face, a typical sign of skin aging besides wrinkles. The subcutaneous fat moves from the cheek areas down next to the chin, where it forms folds – side jowls – and gradually passes over the edge of the lower jaw, which becomes less defined, blurring the difference between the chin and neck. The downward-descending cheeks have another symptom – they start pressing against the nasolabial fold, which becomes more noticeable.

The goal is not to come to work after the procedure for everyone to exclaim "WOW" and immediately know that you had something done. “You look well-rested today!” is what you will most likely hear. And that is exactly the point in the field of appearance. However, the procedure has an even greater effect. At the age of 45, the skin no longer produces as much collagen; it is not as firm and elastic as before forty, or in youth. And it is precisely the threads inserted into the skin that should stimulate collagen production and thus rejuvenate the skin not only visually but also factually.

A minimally invasive procedure with many positive effects for your skin or décolleté. It revitalizes, rejuvenates, and most importantly lifts it back to clear contours. The procedure is preceded by 30–60 minutes of anesthesia, thanks to which the procedure is almost painless. The threads are then inserted into the subcutaneous tissue using a very thin cannula.

Anytime. Due to the necessary wearing of a mask, we recommend undergoing the procedure before time off or a weekend.

No special preparation is required.

During the procedure itself, either strengthening threads to improve the structure and quality of the skin, or lifting – traction threads, which lift the sagging tissues, are applied into the face. Both types of threads activate the growth of a network of collagen fibers, including local blood flow, thus improving skin quality, but only the lifting – traction threads reposition and compress the soft tissues so that they create tissue volume where it originally was (mainly in the cheekbone area) and lift the descending part of the cheeks. Under the skin, we have a number of ligaments and septa that we use as anchoring – fixation points for attaching the lifting threads.

The threads are made of polydioxanone, polypropylene, or polylactic acid. They are hypoallergenic, and after 6–8 months, they dissolve (except for polypropylene, which does not degrade and is permanent). They combine excellently with other aesthetic procedures, e.g. with hyaluronic acid application, botulinum toxin, biostimulators, plasma therapy, chemical peeling, laser treatment, or even with liposuction (e.g. in the double chin area), etc.

After numbing (it is possible to use local anesthetic either by injection or cream), the doctor begins to insert the lifting threads into the skin. This treatment otherwise does not require any special preparation apart from a thorough examination by a dermatologist to determine whether your skin is a suitable candidate for this procedure. The injection site heals quickly and without traces. The procedure itself does not take long, depending on the number of inserted threads – approximately 30 to 60 minutes.

Immediately after the procedure, an elastic bandage – a sling – will be applied to the face, which must be worn continuously for at least 4 days (therefore it is advisable to have the procedure, for example, on Thursday) and for at least another 14 days at night. Bruises that always form must be treated with special creams (Heparoid, Reparil); in case of pain, an analgesic such as Nimesil can be used, and to support healing, Aescin can be taken, 3 times a day, 2 tablets.

The most important thing is rest focused on the face, that is, limiting any facial movements such as chewing, yawning, laughing, opening the mouth, pronounced articulation, oral sex :-) etc.

When removing a “double chin”, the threads are combined with injection lipolysis. If it concerns the décolleté or face area, the threads are most often combined with fillers – either with hyaluronic acid or with one’s own plasma.
